Dressing the Table…Monkey Style

Last weekend, we celebrated Adele’s 2nd birthday…time goes so fast!  One of my favorite times of the year is when I get to plan my girl’s birthday party.  I know planning a party is not always easy and so much time and effort goes into a few hours that is over before you know it, but it is all worth it when you see the excitement of the birthday girl or boy and all the guest that have come to celebrate!  To make party planning a little easier, I have several of my go to places to get some of the cutest supplies that will make your table a piece of art.  Here are some of favorites that made Adele’s Curious George birthday party a success.  Curious George Birthday Party

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

mothers day must haves

Dirt Succulent , Macaron Soap Set, Himalayan Pink Sea SaltPhoto Recipe Magnet, Colored Utensil Set, Sugarfina Candy Gift Box, Vintage Storage Container Set

I have always loved celebrating Mother’s Day and pampering my mom with gifts but since becoming a of mommy, I realize it is so much more than the that.  Sharing this day with my mom, my sister and all the other mom’s in our family allows me to take in how blessed we are to have each other and have the privilege to raise our mini’s!  Trust me, not everyday is sunshiny, but I would not trade it for the world!  So, instead of focusing on any big extravagant gifts, make this day about each other and find something unique to share with one another.  Here are some of my favorites that I am loving right now and your mom might too!

Just Say Cheese…

If  I could plan any party or sit at a restaurant and just eat cheese and drink wine, I would!  The simplicity of cheese is truly an amazing thing and for me it could be an entire meal or the base of a fantastic party.  Why not get a group of people together and let everyone bring their favorite cheese and bottle of wine and I bet you will see everyones personality through the cheese they bring.  All you will need are some great platters, cool spreaders, cheese label, these really creative cheese coasters and your favorite local cheese shop.  Pour yourself a big glass of wine and get started!

Fun Finds: West Elm

Ink-Foods_finds_west-elm

I am absolutely loving everything at West Elms these days!  The problem is, I really do not need anything else for my house, but who doesn’t need fun kitchen accessories.  I know this is kind of a random selection, but as I was walking through the kitchen/market section I just grabbed a couple of things I had to have.  Oven mitts is a must, especially when you burn your hands every time you take a pan out of the oven because your mitts are old and I love the neutral stripe that matches my kitchen so perfectly.  These two enamel mugs are great for coffee or a fun dessert and who doesn’t love butterscotch.  I couldn’t resist buying this, although I wasn’t sure what  I was going to use it for, but the name “SPOONABLE, Brooklyn Butterscotch” caught my attention. After bringing it home, trying it and falling in love with the flavor of it,  I have decided to make a incredible dessert with this rich butterscotch sauce that will be featured on the blog tomorrow.  So for now, go find some fun things to fill your kitchen…it will make your day!

check out www.westelm.com in the Market section for these fun finds
